The second video looks also nice. Is Brink using the id Tech 4 engine just like ETQW?

plus virtual texturization for the highly detailed characters.
(when i first read theyre using the tech4 again i didnt believe it. it almost showed the quality of RAGE in the first screenshots, but yea, it is idtech4 heavily modified)

it’s so awesome
Yes, indeed. When I watch the “run-slide-shotgun-movement”-action (inter alia 02:29-02:40) I sense I am watching the future of fps game movement design. Other games will feel old when this ships.
It causes havok with my brain when playing our previous games. “Slide… slide… mantle MANTLE MANTLE WHYISNTITWOR-ARGHRHGRGHR!!!111 <splutter>”
Is this the same footage that was shown at Leeds few weeks back or whenever it was? Looks familiar however I have not got sound here at work but if it is then tokomat you need your ears testing if think voices are ‘brilliant’, cheese on toast came to mind when I saw/heard the presentation.
One thing I keep forgetting to mention is hit detection, have you done anything in regards to this since ET:QW, it was pretty poor when folk were jumping and leaning and so on which begs the question, how well will it be when firing on enemy performing SMART movements?
Nice, Love the lean feature…this game is going to be a must have…
PS: I saw the grenade cooking works perfect too @ 0:48 Sec of the vid…

Yup, pretty much the exact same demo that was shown at Eurocom/Gamescom/Quakecon/PAX/E3.
As for hit detection, we have switched away from the one big hit box to individual ones for limbs and whatnot. And we’re working on lag compensation code right now as it happens
