The Simpsons house looks great inside, with the exact same furniture and rooms. It’s a bit small though, I think it will be hard if 15 players are gonna spawn in there at the same time 
ET: Simpsons map shots!
I didn’t know the GMT time for Germany and by the time I checked my email, got the map and connected to the server, everything was done. Though from the post Maggumaster made, the beta didn’t really happen…
Anyway, I’ve walked the map locally and there’s a couple of places where I get around 25-50 FPS. Mostly on top of the building beside the bowl-a-rama. I run 2500+ Barton @ 2035 + 9800 Pro 128 so that will be an issue with most players.
There is a problem with clutter in the Simpsons house that’s for sure. I was just strolling around and was constantly bumping into things, move left, move right, jump over things etc… I realized that those parts won’t be used to play but it still would be nice to be able to walk unhindered.
There’s a HOM beside the clock and the mouse hole on the second floor. Probably a caulked surface. I don’t have a screenie but if you need one I can make one.
My pet peeve is the missing surfaceparms grasssteps etc. Except for the truck they all sound the same.
I don’t know if it was because I was SP’ing the map but I couldn’t grab the plutonium and bring it back to the truck. AFAIK that shouldn’t stop me from picking it up.
All in all, it’s a great map. I loved it and walked around for a good half an hour looking at the houses etc. I was a bit dissapointed that I couldn’t enter certain buildings like the Police Station or Flanders house, Quickie Mart, etc. Moe’s tavern looks great. I know you had problems with inline models having too many bottles breakable in the bar but was it necessary to put them all back to being normal brushes? It would have been fun to break some 
The “Created by maggumaster” with the Simpsons font was a nice touch (on the TV in the Simpsons’ house). Textures are simply fantastic and reflect the world of the Simpsons 100%. I agree that parts of the town that can’t be used could be made a skyportal. It would be much easier on the engine and VIS.
That’s all I can remember right off.
I asked an other serveradmin to test the map on his one, and it worked! With com_hunkmegs 96! I can´t explain that error. So the betatest will be tomorrow i think. I´ll talk to the admin.
First to MadJack:
-The performence is a problem, but i guess i can´t imporove it anymore without deleting parts of the map. Maybe I can improve it a little bit more with some more hints…but i don´t think i can improve it very much.
-Performence is also a reason why most of the buildings are not enterable. Ok, performence, size and time.
-I know that the inside of the simpsons house isn´t really cliped. Look at the release notes for the known bugs.

I wanted to make a full detailed simpsons house, so every fan can walk through the famous settings of the simpsons. Even in “Simpsons hit and rund” u can´t really walk through the house. And i think the rest of the map isn´t that undetailed. And anyway, it´s a betaversion.

Didn´t u look into the shaders or textures? There is not ONE color texture in the map. All colors are made out of shaders. I made this before, because i had too many textures. So i made the colortextures to shaders.
To your side notes:
I know that the barbwires and such stuff does not really fit into that universe…but what do u think should i use else? Only this atomic waste stuff? I can live with the barbwire… Maybe i´ll be creative and find something else.
And there is a powerplant. U reach it through the teleporter at Moes Tavern. U also see it on the command map. It´s where the suitcase appears. Ok, it´s only 1 small room, but it´s the most famous small room of the plant.
I will see what i can do to improve the map. Thanks for ur help.

In one of their epidos. There was a “Garbage Wall”. I don’t recall that epido.
is it only the server that needs to up the hunkmegs or do players need to adjust their hunkmegs too. I hope the map runs under default hunkmegs else it wont get played as much as it should.

First, if you do beta, there’s the first rule: Let people know in advance of schedule tests. Sending me an email telling me “we play now and a little tomorrow” isn’t helping me much. Please be as specific as you can. I need to know your GMT time so I can try to be there on time. My time is GMT -5.
I have not yet spoken with the admin of the server. So i can´t be more specific right now, sorry. I´ll ask him tomorrow. But i understand your critic and i´m sorry.
The next test will be wednesday, so i can email all those guys the right time. And there are still some slots left. So if someone is interessted, write me an e-mail. maggumaster_1@hotmail.com.
Ok, MadJack, I’ve done a Google search for the GMT, but that would have you believe that in Germany it’s -4 or -5. But that would put you the otherside of Greenwich.
This handy site Time Converter gave me this:

I looked at my clock(s) and they gave me this: 13:28:59. Hmmm
The handy Microsoft clock in the bottom right gave me the GMT to be +1 hour, which I’m tempted to believe since if I replaced my time with the Time Converter’s I’d get +1 again.
However, this is all assuming that Maggumaster does live in Freiburg, Germany…

When I try and connect to the beta server it says, “hunk_alloc failed on 415”
or sumthing like that
It was a nice experience playing it. I’ll post some comments later probably during the weekend, maybe before. It depends on my own mapping and time I can spend doing something else.
All in all, great map but still some work to do on it.

That was a fun game on your map none the less, so when the bugs are sorted i really think youve got a popular map on your hands there m8 
Germany is GMT +1, but we have here daylight saving time, so it is actually GMT +2 now.
