Et-gpl et-sdk etpub

Just off-topic,but why developers pick up Etpub?

It is same as adding some new HUD elements and new skins and we have a NEW mod. Sounds legit.

I started from ETMAIN as you know, people start from the newer mods because of the existing code. Some mods have very clean code which has more comments and such. Also not many people want the tedious job of adding hitsounds and basic features which are already there at their disposal. I have yet to open another mod and use code from it. I’m not a C programmer, my skills are within the .NET environment, but from looking through the code and help here and there, I’ve got a half working mod so far. It’s compiled for Win and Linux, and now coming to Mac ;).

I started from the beginning for 1 reason, and that was to learn as much as I could.

I can see your point! As I said this project will be GPL based. ETPUB has many great features, but for me there are also many features I dislike. I would say that some developers are just a bit lazy. For the real deal I think that it is a matter of taste. Some like a complete new mod with never seen features. That’s what I like, but then there is those who really enjoys a mod but want to see more of it, and that is the current state of the mod community now
