Why not give something like this to another class, making it more useful? Take the recon for example, right now it kinda feels like “We should have a sniper, most games have a sniper”.

Instead of giving the engineer yet another thing (let’s face it, the engineer is already doing most of the objectives), give it to the recon or maybe even assault.

EMP thing to slow and/or incapacitate it for X seconds or the assault standing near the EV to prevent it from moving when the attackers are around it.

Let’s not load up the engineer with more task, let’s think about how we can get the other classes more useful towards the objective.

Note: I also agree with Apples, drop the “I want this to be just like that” attitude. Keep the ideas, but within reason towards Dirty Bomb as a new game.

I think some meant as it could be a great addition because it worked ,to different degrees, in previous games (as in insert_gamename_here); Not necessarily given to the engineer, nor necesseraily as a HE nade.

I like where chippy is heading with his idea as it’s closer to something I had in mind when I answered this poll (which was maybe worded clumsily).

It’s seems a few people think that rifle nades ended with WW2, it’s true that with the introduction of grenade launchers their use has decreased but the core idea of rifle propulsed nades (be it anti-armor, tear gas, etc) is still engineered, manufactured and used today by some armies around the world.

Personally I think we’ll be ok with the hopefully awesome grenades updates in the coming patches.

If this game fell under the ET family then I would vote yes - but I feel that is a gun that should be left in ET :slight_smile:

I thought about it some more and I REALLY don’t want to see this gun implemented. But I feel some sort of rocket launcher wouldn’t be a BAD idea (Though limits would be needed)

Rocket launcher would be a great addition indeed, but with looong reload time and not that much damage against infantry with the splashdamage, (this need to be balanced of course) but plenty against EV and plenty against infantery when you just take the rocket directly, this will prevent spam in the crowded maps, but you still need to have the satisfaction to explode someone when you aim right :slight_smile:

Same sort of time that it takes for air strikes to recharge would be about right. Maybe slightly less but right now thats for a different topic :smiley:

There’s a grenade launcher of sorts in the game already as it has been mentioned. You just can’t use it yet.

I liked the lobster and EZ-nade launcher in Brink. The EZ could have used some more refinement but yeah. Good stuff.

It will be too much with a granade launcher, they already have a turret/mines.
I think it will unbalance the game aswell because engineers will be able to clear/defend an area by themself (spamming after planting a charge). Don’t forget they have also frag granades.
