Ye, people usually fall back on insults when they can’t do anything else. This game is a flop, a failure and there are much better games out there that are cheaper and WORK (tf2 is free. If you don’t like it then there is something wrong with you =/)

I also left somewhat the forums, though I still read them regularly and intend to post from time to time. I actually came here from the Steam forums because of the all the bad attitude to get more discussions about the gameplay and hopefully post interesting discussions that SD might use to tweak the game.

It is true, most people only bother to make themselves vocal in any way when they have complaints or problems, I have been at fault for that matter too on the internet though, I mean posting asking for help on tech forums etc, but not replying with solutions when I had them, so props to people that bother posting to help others. As for people that feel compelled to try to troll and make life impossible for other people, they don’t realize that it’s mainly themselves that they are hurting, they get more and more bitter about everything and can’t let go, this is a constant in life.

I feel you on that, and right there with you for the most part. Hit up any threads by me or those in the PS3 appreciation thread if you want to have a civil convo about the game… We most all feel exactly the same way you do about the forums.

Internet forums are getting more and more full of trolls, raging and QQ. It’s not unique to Brink. The more commercial a game the more negative attention it garners (warrented or unwarrented). Even smaller indie games have people fighting.

Unfortunately it’s the whole internet F-wad theory. And it’s getting worse every day. Anonymity + no causal effect to acting like a troll results in people who think trolling is cool.

/shrug. Sometimes you just have to click the little x on the top right and just sigh. The only way to fight it is not give into it.

I find the issue here to be the opposite which is why I stopped reading

A group of delusional players doing everything they could to justify a game that is sub par and denying g the fact that in the span of a month, it is dead.

Its ridiculous the arguments I see from people saying they prefer less players, or that there’s no issue with map balance or gun balance while usually citing some horribly specific anecdotal “proof” that does not represent anything but one moment in time.

Its absurd. Bethesda destroyed the game and I dont think SD can pull it from the wreckage at this point. I dont think they could even if they had the ability. Thankfully they have about 400 diehards on this board who dont know quality if it smacked them in the face.

Every game has trolls and haters. Brink however deserves almost all of the criticism for one reason: it was a half baked game shoved to retail and the community never saw an apology.

I’ll be honest, yes the opposite end of the scale is annoying as well. It’s akin to brain-washed religious nuts who can’t see beyond the one sacred book, and are blind to the flaws pointed out to them as if it’s the most perfect game ever created. No matter what logical reasoning is placed in front of them, no, Brinks method is the best and beyond repute, which is why discussions are pointless because they point blank refuse to see any other perspective except their narrow view.

Atlas/namco have put off the shutdown of demon souls servers for years because of how popular the game continues to be since 2009

Don’t think I’m wasting time. I’m bored. So I play some flash games. I have this tab for when it’s loading, and I’ve also got another forum of game I like tabbed. And sometimes I play Killing Floor (2 years old+, a MOD and has a ****load more people playing it) and open this when I die.

Campaigning against the Publisher, Dev, and the fedex driver who delivers the latest copy of Brink, is not gonna prevent other people from enjoying it. Best thing you could do if you don’t like the game, is move on and find something else you do like. Words of wisdom.

Trolling posts lose all validity. If someone with factual content really wants to make their mark they need to make a non-trolling post to do it. It’s too difficult to disseminate the troll from the legitimate complaint otherwise.
I really do not mind critical posts. They will only strengthen the game if they are well put forward. The trolling (on both sides of the fence) is annoying though.

You cannot make a point, be it good or bad, if you’re trolling. Noone will listen. Rise above the trolls and don’t counter-troll. There is no point.
