Do You Guys Like Execution? Or Would You Like a Different Game Mode?

(Yes) #21

King of the Hill anyone? o:)

Objective/stopwatch games are too imbalanced anyways. As a defender, it FEELS like you lose so much ground by losing a single objective. As attacker, it FEELS like you are spinning your wheels unless you take an objective as quick as possible.

I’m all for a game mode that keeps players IN a game, rather than qutting at the first sign of defeat. Is execution that mode? No idea. But they need a mode that’s WAY more casual.

I mean, what’s the point of playing 10 more minutes of a stopwatch when we KNOW we are going to lose? (- Says every person who quits mid-game).

(Atherel) #23

I don’t like execution. I don’t know if I need another game mode but I would like to see something like titanfalls hardpoint.

Stopwatch is a breath of fresh air through all of the SnD. I would like to see a CTF mode as I think this could work well, but working on execution is a waste of time. If I wanted to play SnD, I would hop on CS or CoD.

The reason I play Dirty Bomb is to play game modes that keep the objectives at a high priority. SnD bores the hell out of me and plainly is not fun unless it is done correctly. DB is great for Stopwatch, NOT SnD.

I understand the devs are trying to get people to come over to DB but it is a poor attempt. Everyone will choose CS over DB if this is the route they choose to go. DB is different and Stopwatch is certainly something we haven’t seen done right in a while. They need to put their focus on this rather than catering to the CS:GO community which has already been established.

Execution is a terrible attempt to take players from CS:GO, when CS:GO’s gunplay, map design and economy system make it a far better game for SnD. They could have made an amazing CtF or Domination game mode. Both of these gamemodes would have worked with the fast pace and objective focus of Dirty Bomb, and you could have actually had some side objectives (to shorten the path between bases, or between spawns and points). Instead they gave us this shit, which doesn’t fit the pace of the game, places far too much of an emphasis on kills, and has a total of TWO (wow) boring, simple, tiny maps that have nothing special or unique.

OR JUST GIVE US DOME

I’m not optimistic about me liking a mode where if you die all you can do is stare at your monitor for 90 seconds upwards, but a few test weekends are not enough to decide. At first I will play it mainly for the 500 credits.

I voted for another game mode but what I really mean is I’d prefer those resources were spent on improving existing modes. Instead of Execution we could have gotten a completely new Objective/Stopwatch map. That plus nearly finished Dome and WIP Dockyard would make it 8 maps, which is an OK size. On the coding side the we could’ve gotten so many wanted features and bugfixes (can we please fix the damn sound bug already?)

Personally I don’t like Stop watch and Execution mode. In Stop Watch, either 1 team finishes all the objective, or the other team is unable to do a single objective. And you’re forced to do it for 2 rounds. I don’t feel like this is a “mode”.

As for execution, I’ve never been a fan of it. If you screw up early in the round, you are forced to wait 2-3 minutes before you can start playing again. I hate the down time waiting to spawn in.

(FilterDecay) #28

I like execution mode and oltl in general. However the bomb part kinda makes it feel very CS. How about a execution mode where one player at random on each team must be defended by the rest of the team. If that player dies then they lose.

I think what made CS:GO such a massive hit was the ability to customise your gear rather than any great gameplay innovation. The game itself has hardly changed since I used to play all the time on v1.3 but it’s had years to become established and everyone knows it even if they haven’t played it.

You’ll never get that sort of buy-in on a new game as it’ll always be seen as a CS pretender. Personally I’d welcome new modes, assuming they didn’t detract from other development as noted above but they need to be in keeping with the nature of DB; I’ve said elsewhere that a mode like BF4’s Obliteration would work well, so could CTF.

For now, I’ll play a round of Execution as long as I get the C500 bonus but I don’t see any other reason to stick with it.

(DMaster2) #30

I really dislike this game mode, i’d prefer capture the flag instead.

(neverplayseriou) #31

@FilterDecay that probably won’t work since half of the playerbase barely even knows basic things like how to give out ammo, you’ll probably have the guy that has to be protected run across the map.

(Pecka) #32

You are missing, “I don’t want execution” option. New game mode? Why not, but it should not be SND but rather some kind of CTF and using current maps. Here is a list, devs should start working on  http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/18233/sick6-newbs-feedback-post-v2#latest

(Glot) #33

so, we have 3 unfinished modes, instead of at least 1 finished.

(The_Enema_Bandit) #34

As long as there are new maps - I’m in.

Execution seems a bit strange for DB, I feel like most mercs have no place there.
Time may prove me wrong.

Capture the flag may work on bigger maps or on the current maps if unlocked + some additional spawn zones.

TDM with capturing spawn points and certain number of tickets for the teams is also cool.

Demolition is pretty close to the current game mode, so - no.

missing “Don´t play, don´t want any other” as answer.

don´t like execution and don´t want any other game mode. Stopwatch ftw!

more want some nice maps for different play (like Baserace)
