Dirty Bomb Veteran Pack, purchased on Dec 22, 2012 8:19:44 PM

Legendary, Contributer and Founder VIP = Closed alpha access
Veteran and Elite = Closed beta access

We’re still in early closed alpha, so closed beta is a fair way off by my guess.

Actually, they advertise it on the official page as having a chance to get in to the closed alpha, “Guaranteed access at least one month before Open Beta. Priority invite to the Closed Beta in 2013, plus the chance of invitation to the Closed Alpha running now.”
Just sayin’.

(pwirl) #105

It’s also pretty lame of them to start taking orders with those listed incentives when the game is that far out from “Closed Beta in 2013”

(Dthy) #106

Where does it say “Closed Beta 2013”? I see nothing of the sorts.

(pwirl) #107

It’s quoted in a post above, taken directly from the DB purchase page - click the “priority access” graphic

(Nail) #108

there’s still 7 months left in 2013

Six and a bit…

From the FAQ

When does the Dirty Bomb Closed Alpha/Beta start?
The Dirty Bomb Closed Alpha is currently in progress and we’re inviting Inner Circle members and Legendary Founder’s Pack owners as we build up capacity.

We expect the Closed Beta to start later this year.

Sounds to me like it could be quite a wait.

But to be honest, I’d rather wait for the game to stay in alpha a bit longer until it’s shaped, so we can enjoy a wicked result, than a rushed beta just because people feel like they’re entitled to play a game that probably is hardly playable at this stage of development.

Oh btw, first post!:stroggbanana:

Guys, $120 bucks and you’re in like Flynn! If not, then yore outta luck Chuck.

Pretty simple concept.

I hope they get it to closed beta before october

Im pretty sure Bethesda was telling SD something simillar when they released Brink. If you want to play good game, better chill the ***** out and let them work on it. Otherwise you may get it earlier but something that no one wants to play…

(Falcon.PL) #114

That is correct. It’s better to wait 2 years for a game, one will enjoy to play for 5 years, than to wait just half a year and reassure oneself that SD cannot make a good game anymore.

No hurry, for we’re going nowhere. All we care about at present is quality.

(milkbreak) #115

This is a poor argument. When we purchased Brink, we expected a finished, quality-tested game, since that’s what it was advertised to be. When we drop money, specifically, to be a part of a development process, in hope of helping shape the game into something that we would want to play, we know better than to expect a finished game. To suggest that we don’t understand what we’re putting money towards, considering you genuinely have to make effort to do so at this point, is ignorant.

Anyway, I’m not mad about how long it’s taking… I was just shocked when I realized how long ago I had chipped in. I had forgotten about the game…
And, of course, I’m envious of those that can afford to drop $120 to alpha test a game. Putting myself through school at the age of 28 doesn’t allow for such splurging.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I paid $30 over 5 months ago and all i’ve seen in return is a couple of emails .I actually got confused when paying and i thought i was getting access straight away, so it’s my own fault :).

I also don’t mind waiting I just hadn’t realised when i when I paid I would be still pretty much in the same position I was 5 months ago. Maybe it’s me just expecting too much, i knew it was alpha when I signed up and i guess you can’t rush perfection  I’m still very much looking forward to this so hopefully it will live up to expectations.

(Nail) #117

yorkey, you should have access to the development videos if you bought a pack, pm badman if you don’t have access

(Triz) #118

+1 here.

The more videos I see, the more I expect my alpha access… :frowning:
