Dirty Bomb Closed Alpha Officially Begins - Join Today!
I’ve had mine since yesterday, but due to the slow download speed I haven’t been able to play yet…
Every time I start the launcher the speed is alright, but after a while it’s getting worse

So no steam. Thanks for clearing this out.
Isn’t it too early to assume this? Iirc Alpha and Beta games aren’t available through steam anyway.
I guess alpha and beta games are on steam, like dota and some others. Anyway they got their own launcher and fireteam, and steam doesn’t get mentioned in their trailers. I doubt that this game will be on steam.
It’s a fair assumption, yes and you’re probably right but I’d like to see it confirmed first ^^
I don’t know much about Steam, but I thought they didn’t distributed Alpha’s and Beta’s. (Think about the WarZ debacle which was basically beta software with unimplemented features) Dota also isn’t the best example imo, because Valve directly supports its developpement.
It can still be possible, but I doubt it. Yea, dota was not the best example, but R.U.S.E also had a beta on steam.

I wasnt all that convinced by the first gameplay trailer but this one pretty much has me sold but damn, the minimum you can pay to get into the alpha just now is £70 Approx. Would be cool if there was an early access only package without all the other goodies 'cause they ain’t really something I care for. I know theres the $30 one but that doesn’t give you access now. Maybe something that was roughly £40-50 without the goodies but gave access now but that’d still be more than the average pc game and to play an alpha game thats going to be free to play eventually? seems a lot.
Looking great guys cant wait to try it out, I’m moving to a different country in a few months so cant see me splashing the cash for the founders club
Good to see some old faces here tho who I’m sure will give valuable feedback to the devs.
Keep up the good work SD
Yes, but Dota was actually made by Valve.
Look at Blacklight Retribution. It had its own launcher and was released in Steam, but it took a few months after the initial release.
Would the alpha play well for North American players? ie NA servers? Or is it being hosted out of UK?
There are both NA and EU test servers available in Alpha. I also think it wouldn’t be too much of a leak to say that cross-continental play is really not a pressing issue. I play from the west coast of the USA on UK servers the majority of the time, and with absolutely zero latency frustration. It’s quite impressive really.
So how much do you have to pay to get into the Alpha right now? I know that I paid something some months ago, but I don’t know if it was a guarantee for the Alpha.
Edit: Okay, 120 is too much for an instant access right now, damn. Gonna wait.
