dark models in 2.3.31

Ok, just got ut_uptown and checked it out. The problem was exactly as you surmised. There was a gap in the ceiling structure which I filled with caulk and the problem is fixed. Thanks a tremendous amount :}…

Hi, Im using GTK 1.2.12 and the q3map2 that comes with that, I think 2.3.31.

Anyhow, every model I use displays fine in the editor, and displays fine if I only do a BSP and LIGHT compile. However, as soon as a VIS is done, they are all completely black. :banghead:

If I create a one-room map and use these models in exactly the same way they work fine.

Any ideas?

Are you compiling for Quake 3, RTCW, Elite Force or for SOF2 or JK2?

BTW, vis your map before doing light. The light code uses visdata to optimize lighting.

Im mapping for Urban Terror.

I always run them in the correct sequence, and I noticed that leaving out the vis stage is the only way the models work.

EDIT

Um, sorry about that, ignore me completely.
I think I was useing an old version of q3map2build  soz

Hi…

I also got some problems with black player models, even if everything else around is lightened by the sky. This happens only in some places in the map. I tried the light juniors and they seem to solve this problem. But it is hard work to put all those lights into the map. Is there a better solution?
