paul, thats exactly what i am doing. you also in the past have proven some things you are not yet able to understand. but with scennative i have my doubts. he is just non-stopping lying and in fact, all the stuff he presented here was fake.

remember the question by dutchmeat here in this thread ? “with the normal source code” was his answer. just shows actually that he doesnt really have any clue what he is talking about.

and now he is going to steal some ideas from other persons and this is the reason me telling you about this guy. dont be so foolish to respect him for things he didnt really do. and in fact he is going to steal the ideas of another ones mind.

the idea for brink is so much greater than all the work beeing involved in it. because not everybody can have this idea.

and thats what im fighting for. people who are just original will get treated like dirt by people like scennative. in fact he is so decieving wanting to sell these ideas as his own. lets just wait and see what he will present here. its not coded yet as he said. so he still has a chance to not implement it.

and you said it. this guy is a child. consider me just his father telling him things for eductation. of course a father will fail when the child is not worth it, but at least i would just abonden this child into a deep cellar for not giving any harm to this world. the world is fake enough, there shouldnt be more people diving into that never ending circle. somewhere it gotta stop!

yay sorry for my ****ing bad english!

I pretty much understand aaa4 quite well. And your not wrong at all besides your bashing a bit (see me calming down  )
What can i say…we invented the flags in mod, fly-over planes, tripmines…never got credit…hell, even our slick fine samples are stolen by everyone meanwhile …so i agree with ya if you get mad a bit…
Eastfront took our code without credits (hunk_megs bypass - but i cannot proof it anymore since their old HP is down like the mod  )

My only stupid suggestion is for Scenna in this topic is , when you use sourcecode and openly say it… put your source code online too…svn or something…personally i would appreciate it

pff…c is the same in english like in german. a week ago you thought you are coding in c++ btw, and it was me telling you that it is the c programming language.

and dont play the innocent here. dont you wanna tell something about those ideas ? they have been great and given to you, but in my opinion you are not allowed anymore to implement them in your mod. of course you can do so, but if you do, you trade yourself.

ideas are nothing worth, eh ? thats your opinion, is it ? dont you wanna tell the world ? stealing them is so much better eh ? you dont have them so you steal them. thats really easy.

and just let me come back to one thing showing this deceiving charakter. i didnt made that clear:

it is a fact that he is giving credits to his friend cambo for “ideas”, as it is said in the readme for his mod. but on the other hand he loudly tells here that his opinion about giving ideas to his mod isnt worth a credit at all. look here:

still think i am trolling ?

its on a svn server, but However, it will make like Noquarter: I don’t make older versions to on-line, new then any more.

(aaa4) #26

do you want me to translate that ?

(hellreturn) #27

I agree pretty much on that.

I have given few ideas to few mod makers and never got even thanks. On top of that in change log they mention “I have added new things”. They could have at least mention thanks to community, but no it’s all about “I”. Now, sometimes I question to myself, that from where this “I” came from. But then again it’s free game and it’s internet so everyone thinks they can do whatever they like.

True developer always give credit where it’s due and they never think to remove your credit in next version. Some people are just so selfish, that I have no words to explain there egoistic selfishness.

so much spam in this subject. when are you going to take off your mask aaa4, and shows ur primary account? you came from nowhere, knowing way too much just to be a guest.

personally, i don’t see a problem if he is extracting/ripping/converting models from other games, and then CODE THEM by himself - and i think that’s what he has done. new weapons etc… i don’t care that the model comes from cod2 or anything else. i will care only how it works in game.

anyway, i’ll try to post ‘stolen cod-idea’ video soon. 98,9% of players will not give a (u know what) that it’s not my own idea… but it’s cool feature, and that’s how it should be seen.

hellreturn - what would u say about firefly then? he used my way of clipping (not much, but still) in his newest map called castle eltz. i didn’t see any credits to my name in readme, or anywhere else. so he is not a true developer… ?

I normally tend to avoid those questions, because eventually it results in e-drama/fight. On side note, I don’t know you or firefly much, but in my utmost honest opinion if he really used things that you had directly suggested or things which you have/had made, he should.

For me it’s like human courtesy, to say thanks when someone helps you. It’s not really that hard to include few names in readme. I would personally prefer to spend 30 mins for saying thank you in readme, to those people who have helped me in my 50 hours project. Someone can also say mass thanks, by just saying “Thanks to Splashdamange community members who suggest me good ideas in xyz topic”.

My previous post was regarding those coders/moders/users/players/persons, who just mention “I” did all.

IMP Note: It’s just my personal opinion and nothing else.

(Paul) #30

I partly agree with aaa4, which we will put left. And indy, which we’ll put right.
I’m let say somewhat to the left as, I think stealing like Indy says is ok is just not the way to go. If I worked on my map like 500 hours, for example, and someone would decompile it and change some things and then put me in the credits: “Thanks original by Paul” I seriously would get furious…

I agree, Scenna is a person who just needs to learn this, he should credit all the people and be at least honest what he did take.

(dutchmeat) #31

So I can quote you on this next time someone uses one of your models or maps without permission or credits?

The fact remains that it completely sucks when someone else steals your work and prints his name on it. Those people are no real developers, and I think it’s allowed to say so when appropriate, like here.

But keep in mind that those people are also learning, and every bit of recognition is motivating, that’s proberly the reason why he posted this.

+1 Agreed

(IndyJones) #33

yea, you can quote me. there was a map released few months ago that was using some of italy brushwork, and then it just got retextured. i didn’t complain.

(Pegazus) #34

What map was that - just out of curiosity

(IndyJones) #35

i’ll tell u tommorow. i can’t recall the name right now… good night!

(IndyJones) #36

the pk3 of that map is pipeline_v1.1.b.pk3 .

so this is the map and these are the screens… do u see me being angry or mad, just because of this? the answer is NO.

(Scennative) #37

back to topic!

(ailmanki) #38

And I thought I figured a cheap hack out for that … How does UltraET bypass that? This would be nice for any mod out there?
