guess not^^

also found 2 more bugs
sometimes it will be 4v6 in the lobby instead of 5v5, game won’t start then.
And sometimes there are 10 people in the lobby (5v5), but it says one player didn’t connect, game won’t start.

Happened several times, but no idea why or when :frowning:

Spot on. Even if you back-fill the slots not only might you get a player joining a match that they don’t like (close to inevitable loss perhaps) but you also add a lot of randomness to the skill rating system that it’s not easy to account for mathematically.

lol i won 7 games and lost 3, got silver 1
game probably just bases your rank based on the rank of the people you beat, and considering that pretty much everyone ive played is unranked or low ranked, just gave me a **** rank

EDIT: Found you both, there might be a bug but the data suggests you’ve played a significantly different number of matchmaking matches over DB’s history. Are you sure you guys didn’t play a lot in the matchmaking stress test weekends?

guess that explains it
pretty dumb that what was supposed to be an unranked stress test actually affects rank now, especially since it was completely different to current one (no party system). I constantly queued at the same time as suncommander so we could play together and got put vs each other every game more or less, basically bringing both our w/l ratios to around 50%.

If the playerbase is that small then I think you need to consider turning off party matchmaking - I guess that will be unpopular, but having just come off two back to back solos v premades it aint fun for anyone (well OK freze was on and his KD ego got a boost).

For the moment the premades can still pug or scrim, albeit I know that’s not always available. Bigger picture, I’ve had 9 new’ish rank 6/7 players put through two **** games that is likely to lose them for future MM if not the game as a whole.

What about a hybrid: If the system finds a 5 stack vs 5 solos, but can’t make a decent match out of it (because solos have lower ranks), offer the 5 stack an option to disband the group and play solo, so the MM can sort all players into two teams of approximately equal strength. This way you can queue up as a premade just in case there is another premade on (or 5 high ranked solos), but if not then you can still find a good game if you are willing to accept the split-up condition.

Depends how long they’ve been looking for a match… If they can find a good match fast enough, then this is a nonissue anyway.

That sounds like a decent workaround, not sure how easy it would be for SD to implement though.

I actually like the idea of competitive ‘solo’ queue, and normal ranked, with premades and groups of buddies.

Solo-queue could actually also become ranked, ELO style, with the best player having highest W/L ratio. Provided we can ensure people can’t cheat the system, best 10 players can be awarded ‘best teamplayer of the month’ skins, or have a 5v5 showmatch.

Seems to me like rewarding unique skins for in-game cups is not a bad idea at all!

Aye I wondered how the ranking system would factor in w/l when solos are facing premades - a set of average players all on comms and used to working with each other should beat a random team.

Could someone explain why servers are crashing so often? We tried to play mm and the server crash after warmup, probably I’ve got another penalty. Also I played against people with 400 ping, it’s completely unplayable and unfair.

How you can run open beta if basic fuctions doesn’t work correctly from more than half year? And I’m not talking only about rankeds because casual servers can also crash/bug/stack etc.

We’re aware that there is another issue affecting server region selection, looking into it right now. We did fix one issue we were aware of related to this but it appears that was hiding another one :frowning:

We’ll let you know as soon as we have more info.

Anti, have you had any plans of giving out information of players currently using ranked match making.

I have been asking this for few times but It would be extremely nice to show how many people are using it and on which servers they are searching for!
(maybe eventually you will see %wise what ranked people are using it!?)

Question to Anti.
I won 4/10 matches I think and I’ve got Silver I, Now I won 7 matches in a row and I’m still Silver I. Is it normal?

If you won against people on lower ranks and lost to people on higher ranks then it’s likely you haven’t moved much.

Think I’ve won around 20 and lost about 3 and my rank hasn’t changed yet either.
