Competition needs

no pause please ! play the map point to point without any interuptions.
Simple administrator acces like a new tab in the limbo menu for admin with

  • restart
  • move players
  • Choose map
  • set number of players on the fly can be cool to

all simple options with easy access can be perfect

So what if your team was playing an ESL match and because ESL wire is buggy with this game (anti cheat) it kept kicking 2 of your members without warning. Would you accept the fact that you had to play with 3 people for best part of half the maps and pretty much get dominated? Or would you just accept a 30 second pause to get them back in game? When you think of it like this there is only one option :\

Or get ESL to have a decent wire ^^ Its their organisation, not your fault the net is lousy

I understand your point of view, but !
Lot of team use this “Pause” or “Time out” even without connection lost just to use it cause they can.

So when we play ESL on squad rush on BF3 if there is only one disconnection then the game continue if there is 2 then the round is restarted. that’s all.
And I think that’s the better way, and that’s why most of the team have 5 players ready to play 4v4 to change a player if there is a problem.

And like I say before we like to play hard but we are not Pro players !
I play for fun, I have a job :stuck_out_tongue:

Pause is a Must have for competition but Not on Pub Servers. We lost a few matches in brink cause Rex got a Scotty connection and he was the engi who should Defuse the charge on an objektive.

Another thing that WE need at the moment is a 100% ready percentage and free team choice.

(Patriotqube) #25

Yes In comp Pause is a must have, matches is ment to be played by even teams  so pause is used to give ppl with crappy connections a bit of time to get back on server.

+10 for Pause

(Mustang) #26

Then that’s more of a problem with the league rules allowing for tactical pauses rather than just allowing it for connection issues.

(Kendle) #27

Can’t remember whether ET limited the number of timeouts (very long time since I played an ET match) but the most recent game I’ve played, Urban Terror, limits the number of pauses per team per round to whatever is set in the server config (i.e. as determined by the league).

No gaming league (other than maybe a few ultra-low-skill “fun” leagues) is going to touch DB unless it has these basic “eSports” features, it’s certainly a non-starter as a “proper” eSports game unless you can pause and restart rounds / matches.

(Patriotqube) #28

in CB 6v6 its 2 pauses per team per round

(BomBaKlaK) #29

Ok ok ! I can’t fight ! :stuck_out_tongue:
You all wanna some !
so put some but please do some limitations. like 1 time in 2 rounds of stopwatch, then you can use it only if there is a real deconnection, and people wont use it anytime.
1 or 2 times in a round it’s really to much.

(Kendle) #30

The number of times you can pause per team per round is irrelevant, the leagues will decide that, based on what the teams playing in those leagues want. All that matters for this discussion is that the feature is included in the game, preferably before general release.

(BomBaKlaK) #31

yep ok I undertand the meaning of it

(potty200) #32

In ET is is indeed 2 pauses per MAP not round. They can last up to 180 seconds each. After that the other team can be kind enough to pause for you if you are in desperate need, though this is NOT a rule.
