Well updating my drivers (ATI 14.7) finally worked out for the better- also fixed my defocus issue. I was able to enable cross-fire for the first time since ages ago and actually get a significant FPS boost. Input felt good as well, and was able to have some fun with the sniper for the first time in a long while. There still is a strange feeling of low fps or maybe lack of synchronization with the refresh rate of the monitor, but I can cope.

already waiting for next update similar to this proportion. The game gets boring quick when 3 or 4 classes are missing, extraction isn’t playable, and there are only 4 maps to play. Also the unlock rate should be faster for the higher levels, for closed beta testing, (120k+ for level 16?), and crates should of dropped more often (should of left the bug in the beginning … )

Also Auras healing ability is overpowered when it isn’t being used on herself, maybe lower the healing rate increase down from 20% to 15%. Aura using her ability on herself around a enemy, the enemy apparently will get the faster healing rate, this is a gimp

game should have 2x the maps in open beta,
and im waiting for extraction game-type stress test, objective/stopwatch shouldn’t be the only priority

One thing I have noticed the most about this patch is the hit feedback! I can for sure tell when I am getting shot in the head now…

With that said it is a little ridiculous to have that feeling 100 times over vs a Saw or Phoenix…

The TTK is crazy fast in this game but obviously slower then COD or BF.

I played Train last night and it was 2 v 2… Fun :confused:

I noticed crazy ground movement that effects your aim… I also got stuff on a pallet and some other boxes more then I can count.

I think movement speed needs to drop just a little and more advanced moves need to be entered. People are going to be turned off by this movement speed.

Now I might be talking out of my butt, but like a lot of people said you can only play this game for 1 or 2 hours max before something happens. Either you get bored, you get dizzy or you get physically drained from working so hard. Last night it was almost who shoot first would win. People are punished for RLRL but in some cases it evens our because you are a blurr to the other player.

Honestly after this long of playing I have no idea how to fix the game or what suggestions to give. Game feels so random and player movements are so sporadic. With that said how can a game feel like that when I am shooting over 40% with all the major guns? I can tell you one thing is that I can not 100% keep my aim on someone in this game. Something happens that throws my aim off. A glitch or wrap or I step on a train rail that raises my cross hair or something beyond random that piss you off so bad you want to quit because you shouldnt have died…

played a bit more
screen shake is kind of a deal breaker atm. I’m not normally one to be like wahhh I refuse to play this patch because of x y or z but trying to use fraggers gun is absurd it’s so anti-competitive and just generally horrible having the screen go mental when you’re trying to aim pls pls pls remove no one likes it
also the maps are too small for 8v8 which is now abundantly clear played an 8v8 on bridge last night and it was just so brainless. During the EV push you’d have like 6v6 battles in the middle of the road it’s so bad. Need much larger maps.

The weird thing is that I feel like I’m the only one who barely notices the screen shake (90-95 fov). I’d think anyone used to ET would be even more used to it considering how much more intense the screen shake is when getting hit in that game. Does it actually interfere with the crosshair or is it just the fov?

I am using 75 FOV and I hardly notice it but I am also trying to rage heads… I notice major bouncing when going over train tracks on Train or stairs…

I also find it very slow to bring up the pistol for a side note.

I still find it crazy that a level 1 can kill a level 60 or me! haha!!! Even a crappy low/middle level player has a chance and I find that dumb… Skill gap is still very small!

All you have to do is stand against a wall and shoot while looking at the sides of the screen (use fragger, not 100% sure but his gun seems to shake more than say, sawbonez so presumably the degree of shake is set to the calibre of the gun)
you can see clear as day that when shooting the screen will shake quite violently
that means either the crosshair is also shaking with the screen (horrible) or the crosshair is staying static but the enemies on screen are shaking around your crosshair (horrible)
I just don’t get why it was added. The game already had a bit of a random feeling when aiming for the head cause of the spread but combined with the shake it feels to me like you can just hold mouse 1 and pray.
I’ll play more anyway maybe I’m exaggerating but feels total crap to me atm

So, I convinced myself to play some rounds again, unfortunatelly not on Dome. The problem I have is, I dont want to play DB, I really dont care about it anymore. It’s simply not a game I enjoy. I dont like the maps, I dont like the mercs, I dont like the engine.

  • medic shotgun range is wrong. Still getting killed with 1 shot at 40 feet
  • attackers spawn time is 27s? What’s up with that? Lower it/stagger the times…
  • mg still bugged
  • fast reload on shotty is silly fast, there is basically no end to amount of shotgun shots you can spam
  • Can redeye 1hk? Maybe it’s the lag, but it feels like i have been 1hk by him a few times (thought that was being removed)
  • my fps/performance took a dump. I have 20-40 less average fps, with bigger dips (into the 60s)
  • please bring back bridge alt and delete the current version
  • redeye’s fire rate is silly fast with that damage
    - put underground in the recycle bin

Played a lot this weekend: Conclusion

#1) Idea - For the game to feel better:
Fragger and Thunder have 140 HP and when you play them fire fights seem to be just about the right speed… My suggestion and Yes this might give it more of an ET feel however but all raise the skill ceiling also. The things that need to be done for this to work:
1a) Reduce Medic speed and up HP to 100… Fix Fall off Damage… Balance Close Range Damage… Max to Full HS to Kill…
1b) Put Fragger and THunder at 180 HP!
1c) Put all other Classes at 140 HP!
1d) Increase Spread Recover time for all gun especially while sprinting or RLRL…
1e) Increase Reward for Crouch shots and Crouch slide or Move shots

  • Give use more control!
    Basically the notion behind this is that a person getting back raged by a noob that gets no hs can 180 and 4 - 8 dink that person and win the battle. This will also give better players more of a chance to get 2 or 3 kills in a row. Ripping faces instead of noob body rage.

#2) Rant - I know SD is probably set but for real:
Get rid of Shotguns! Flipping hate them… Feels like noob central… Make them Slugs and up the rate of fire to almost and auto spread with 2 or 3 HS to Kill… The balance will never be there… They will either be to OP or not enough… Especially with the 80 HP balance that you put in… NOT TO MENTION THE CRAZY DUMB SPEED OF THE PEOPLE!!! Please rethink them!

Please work on movement and movement speed… Especially on Train! That map is so bad for people bouncing over tracks or glitching up stairs is insane…

Side Notes:

Bring up guns after revive or being able to shoot after something like a revive seems way to long.

Then we would still have this crappy aim feeling… They need one more pass on spread recovery, fall off damage, how recoil behaves and shooting rewards (Such as crouching, sliding, crouch after jump and so on)…

I agree its to fast in certain situations (Most) and to slow in others…

I don’t argue against this, I’m just saying that since spread was tightened and hitboxes increased they didn’t adjust damage to match, adjusting character HP is just a poormans fix for balancing it properly.

Shotguns are too strong again…

Heartbeat Sensor all the time…? this must be rescricted ( think all 2 min 45 sec the sensor)

Whitechapel Intro Bug ( 2 EV`s)

Drug Sample Deliver (Whitechapel) is too fast

EMP Sample Deliver (Trainyard) is too slow

can we have a player kick option on the servers?

can we have a map vote option on the servers?

can we restricted the airstrikes per minute ( soo much spam when defenders/attackers play with 3 or mor skyhammers)

EMP Sample Deliver (Trainyard) is too slow - Really… Its hard but not slow… Or do you mean the sitting there loading it into the train? Yeah thats to slow but seem balanced for the distance and angles…

Just had to kill a guy once on the way to plant the final obj on the worst map ever created (1000m long drain pipe, aka Underground), killed him again after planting, and then respawned a third time and killed me for the defuse.

Why would the D ever spawn at 20s intervals why the attackers spawn every 27s? When/Why would that ever make sense?

Can you finally stop dicking around and give us decent spawn times?

Think i’ll wait a couple of patches before playing again. Hopefully some maps see major improvements (or in this case deleted).

On a positive note - played the new Dome earlier for the first time, and aside from being confused and trying to deliver the jug to an AA gun after we had already completed the first objective, I really liked the openness/larger fighting areas.

One thing though, I was guarding a door on the second phase which seemed like a pretty useless secondary objective when people can just run past it on the immediate left and plant anyways (unless I am missing something).

Most everything weapon wise feels okay imo-

Shotguns are still the most obnoxious weapons though (esp aura’s), but I doubt it will ever improve without a complete redesign of the weapon itself. Grenade launcher seems much more effective. Can’t comment on redeye, rhino, or arty yet. The surprising bit is that accuracy stats appear to be lower than I’d expect, at least for me. I hadn’t touched an FPS for about a month+ till last week (plus only able to play on weekends) and am still performing well in DB, but my accuracy stats are much lower than last patch (30-34 vs 38-40). Maybe the skill margin has just dropped some since most people have been mia until this patch. Overall gun play feels good for me, good hit feedback/reg, ttk, kick, etc has been perfectly manageable in my experience.

Shotguns would be cooler if they had a higher disrupt/flinch effect and lower damage.
