or

“We died a million times, to give you the best FPS game possible”
(together with a partial screenshot from ECHO, or some stat-graphs. Just decent, just so people would understand what you guys actually meant with “dying”/“died”)

If those aren’t nice catch-phrases? Sure, they are bit clunky and maybe there’s a better replacement for the word"dying"; like for example “sacrifieced”, or whatever, but you get the idea. There are certainly better phrases, but it took me only 3 minutes to come up with those.

Numbers are allways good for PR and 1Mio is a magic number, no matter of what we are talking about.

To be fair, I stole that from you(seeing it as deaths, instead of kills) But I have an idea to make the deaths a bit more abstract. Jpeg will follow in a minute.

Yes, it still reads “Dirty Bomb”, the font isn’t too great and the layout sux, but I have neither the time, nor the font, nor the knowledge to crank out a print ready advertisement. Actually I’d like the “We died a million times…” to look like it was stamped upon the merc images; maybe with some color sprites sourounding it and in an angle. I know, that that wouldn’t be that imaginative either, but you also don’t have to invent the wheel anew with everything you do.

And as I’ve said, a small section of the ECHO stats, confirming those kills/deaths, somewhere in the “ad”.

The good thing about this wouldn’t be just the fact, that such an ad would imply, that a game is heavily tested, but also, that there are already many, many people playing it, wich is the most paramount thing a FPS game has to promise(and to keep). The best looking, most innovative and most satisfying game is nothing without it’s audience.

You can tell people upfront; “Many people already play our game”, but will it actually convince them? No, because gamers are usually(or rather, have become) a highly suspicious bunch of conspiracy-theory digging guys that don’t believe anything they get spoon feed upfront.

And they also prefer to do the math themselfs and they love to believe the conclusion they come to. Just tell them 1Mio deaths and they’ll come to the conclusion, that XT is already played by a significant amount of people.

I don’t think so, cause dying for someone, generally means a lot more, than “just” killing for someone.

For example; if you love someone, family-member, girlfriend, wife, whoever; you’d rather say, I’d die for you. I mean, just imagine a love song where somebody would sing; I’d kill for you. I mean, wtf? That’d be just gross. But when you say, you’d die for someone, that’d mean, you’d really give everything for him/her; in this case here, the fans/customers.

I almost feel kinda stupid that I have to explain the obvious meaning of such a simple and common phrase to you.

The simple and common phrase I know is “I’d kill for you”, just saying…

I’d have expected such a wise-cracking Mr.Spock $hit from some 3 1/2 posts red star troll, but not from you Mustang.

Couldn’t find the exact pic I was looking for, and too lazy to make my own and upload it, c’est la vie. Also if you think I don’t “wise-crack” you don’t know me very well, life’s too short to be grumpy.
