Brink: Steam & Anticheat

if you aren’t allow to play what you pay, you might as well pirate it. why pay for something you can’t use?

besides, i have no interest in having big brother watch me when and what i’m playing. i won’t buy any game that enforce that kind of annoyance.

and speaking of assassins creed 2 which has that new protection: it’s a piece of $#!T. i got the ps3 version. ubi soft fooled me once again in pirating 60 euro from me. there was no demo of the game. i had no chance to try the game and i absolutely don’t like it. so who’s the pirate?

You don’t have to. Steam has offline mode which lets you play your games without internet connection. (after you downloaded them obviously.) It is also possible to shut down steam while playing a game, I’ve done that before

Exactly. what are you trying to hide anyway?

I was refering to UbiSoft’s new DRM

I have a Steam account. Have done for a long time now.
I’d very much like BRINK to be on Steam, and possibly use some of Steamworks facilities. Maybe leaderboards, match-making, Valve Anti-Cheat and whatever else, and an Official Steam Group where players are notified with a popup of updates.

Steam is cool when it doesnt repeatedly close down for maintainence. When they do that, in Aliens vs Predator all access to Multiplayer is shutdown.
