why would you want a SDK for a game that does`nt work, and having regular patches being released. the SDK and API will be old and no body would try your mod, brink would end up dead like quake 4,

id gave up on quake 4 and moved on, splash cant give up on brink

I know that SD are going to be working hard to get improvements to us, but I hate this “new SD” under Bethesda. They used to be so open and willing to share information with us - we’ve had pretty much silence since release on several important points, aside from Paul’s initial “we’re working on it” blog, and Badman’s patch updates.

Personally, I’d love to hear that they’re taking the feedback on board - and as a PC player, I’m desperate to see more options for key binding. Just that addition/tweak would make me more eager to play. Beyond that, I definitely would love to see the SDK on it’s way - I don’t believe an SDK has ever brought anything except good, free stuff to the table. I guess the plans to release DLC are interfering with SDK plans, if they even exist right now. I can understand that, but SD is going to need to apply at least some of the PC feedback, to ensure a long life for Brink.

EDIT: I sent a kitten, but couldn’t find a box unfortunately - so it’s in a Jiffy bag. Hope that’s OK!

who complaining, most of the bugs are engine bugs, they release patches, the games API changes, the game code in the driver will have a few tweaks in each patch…

you can change the driver API number in the framework/ .h files, but comparing all other files in a ascii compare app is a bore, most people will be playing the latest version of brink only for the next few months, there would be no point in having or releasing a SDK until after christmas

Ya I really want SDK too. I mean the graphics are bad. Like you barely see the custumization on your character in multiplayer games or on anyone else the colors just arent that bright, and there are pixleated textures. Aslo they need to go crazy with the SMART system so u can do backflip of walls, or slide on your back and shoot, or being able to hang upside down with your feet on a rail or any ledge. if and when id release Q4 engine as GPL, quakelive will die the next day i release a build, and will probaly be the last ever mainstream game with good ol CTF and other oldskool basic gametypes

Q4 completely failed in sells, most people who have played it dont have a cdkey, when the engine is GPLd built sources do not need a cdkey, and the reason other GPLd games are still alive and usually come back to life when the engine has been GPL`d

Q43A has everything casual players want in a modern game, and everything pro players want in quake, all you need todo is config your server for your type of game and choose you map pool

there is never a month without a new release of Q43A or a dev patch upload to a forum, and it continues
