So it’s popular cause it’s different, no matter how many people hate it? Is THAT you measurement??
I guess you are pretty popular aswell then
blah blah blah
More noise from you and static. Not surprised. Agree to disagree. You have your measure, I have mine. Deal with it, bro.
IMO the reason Brink doesn’t catch on is because you can’t hit what you aim for. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vmSJqKW68Y
FIRST POST FTW.
I’ve been noticing, every time I ask someone at school or on another forum site, nobody knows what the hell Brink even is.Aparrently the ONLY people who seem to know what Brink is come here, and I’m wondering why it never got as popular as CoD because Brink is awesomeness :o
Because Brink makes you think to much, many people like CoD because it’s simple and easy to jump in and out of games + get kills.
The fact is, you can’t measure popularity by measuring how different the game is from other games.
Since popularity is based on PEOPLE and whether they like something or not.
Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about if you think you can measure the games popularity by not even taking peoples opinion about the game into account.
And I am not your “bro”.
I’m sorry, but this excuse is just scraping the bottom of the barrel. Any new game anyone ever plays has at least one or more new mechanics to learn and gamers are open to and expecting that fact.
Brink isn’t complicated and it doesn’t take a lot of thinking. You go to the objective, killing as many people as possible along the way, and do it. All the while pressing the F key to buff people. At the same time you use team tactics and strategies like flanking and choke points just like any other FPS ever made. Anybody that has played an FPS or any other game can grasp that. Even those that some people choose to label as “codiots.” Hopefully the people at SD aren’t riding this as their excuse for Brink’s player retention failure because if so their next game is going to be even worse.
*I’ve never played a single CoD game for even one minute.

That was a really well done video. You can see how you rarely hit, but when you do, it’s 30% to 50% damage giving highly erratic outcomes.

You two are discussing semantics. He clearly defines his ‘popularity’ in a different way, one that is highly influenced by marketing and hype, while yours is down to the actual quality of the game. No need to take that further.

Yup this is one of the main reason why the game’s dead.
Wolfnem, if there was a poll in this forum regarding the top 5 most daft forum users… you would win the popular vote.
Mark this on your calendars; I’m agreeing with Crytiqal and Snark.
Popularity is not a subjective matter. Unfortunately, that is most certainly a measurable quality.
Wolf, you’re wrong.
Deal with it, bro.

What a great comeback and such a good attempt to redeem yourself.
Oddly enough, this is the first post in this entire thread that I actually agree with.

Why do you people still argue with wolfnem? He’s clearly delusional and prolly hasn’t taken his pills in a while. Stop making every thread about wolfnem.
