erm in the post he says “there’s also a small chance” - i’m guessing here that it’s a small chance…

dont know why folk with less than the legendary pack would expect access anytime soon - if i paid to get into the alpha I wouldnt be best pleased to find elite/veteran pack users getting in within a couple of weeks. also if you start letting lots of elite/veterans in where is the incentive to drive anymore legendary pack sales? finally it’s a good ploy to keep folk interested to have this kind of ‘potential’ for access…

I’d imagine the formula would be.

Is game ready for Beta? NO
Do we need more people to test Alpha? YES
Are sales of Legendary and Founders Packs high enough to supply those people? NO
Then Invite some Elite and Veteran people into Alpha. OK

While I’m sure SD has milestones to meet they’ve always been a “When it’s done” type of developer. I can’t see them launching a Beta until the Alpha phase is done. On the plus side the longer that takes the more chance is they’d want fresh testers so perhaps people would get access either way.
