Mmh sounds strange to me,
i guess you should reinstall ET at all, or get a new version by downloading it somewhere.
I had near the same Problem and i had to install ET twice, then it worked, ore you need and WinXP update.
Bots for ET Alpha 1 is done!!!!!
I gave in and downloaded ET & the patch again, and did a full proper install in anohter dir.
This time Bobots installed fine and the shortcut works great and nothing crashes, which is good
(Still would be nice to have no installer though).
I love the bots
They’re crazy and look at the sky and run randomly everywhere, but it’s still cool. Great for a first attempt. I did 10 vs 10, took them a while to capture the Old City after running past the flag, they then got it and planted about 8 sticks of dynamite so I had no chance of defusing, then eventually blew up one gun but I held them off with mines from getting the other gun. They’re a bit too good with the headshots though, even though thier accuracy was below 50% it didn’t seem like it! When I sat at the tunnel exit with a mobile mg42 they would just turn the corner and nail me with headshots before I could even shoot back.
Things I’d like improved are:
-Teamates avoid mines! I killed about 1000 teamates… also would be great if when the other team die from a mine, they avoid that area and try another route
-Everybody is called Bobot, so you get ‘Bobot killed bobot’ constantly, would be nice if they were called Bobot-Allies and Bobot-Axis, or better yet had random funny names and colours 
-They spam ‘Medic’ vsay too much! It was going constanlty for the entire 30 mins, and there wasn’t even a medic in the game LOL
Can’t wait for future releases.
I wonder if the original bots for ET were better or worse than these before the idea was scrapped?

The ClanRW did a great job and i think when the final version is released it will be an exciting day for the whole ET comunity and i am sure the Bots will play ET as good as the Humans to!
No , bobots will newer by like humans , but i realy hope that . They will be god lan friends to play ET in lan :):)When the final version will be out , the lots of people who havn’t Internnet connection will can play Enemy Territory . Sorry for my English .
You´re right killer, when ET was released, i couldn´t play it online and alone in an Lan game^^ no thx.
But with the Bots all thoose people can play one of the best online shooter in a LAN game against bots.
i think these bots did continue the code from the ones they were originally planing to implement, if they didnt it would have taken much longer as the bot code made up about 1 third of the server dll code
And if you want it translated into any other language, you can visit Alta Vista Babel Fish Online Tranlator, not the best, but also not bad :moo:
The bots work fine on my local machine but not my dedicated server, anyone know how to add them to a dedicated server ?

Here is the German version of ET bobot, English version will come in few days :
People should be able to choose where to install this to. I have two copies of ET on my hard disk, and I’d like to have some say in which one it goes into.

And it’s nice , when you have only 1 or 2 friends in lan and play with them and bots .At example you play 6 vs 6 on Oasis with your 2 friends from lan and 9 bots :)
When I play with bots my skill is fast going up < and when I enter to a serwer and play with wreal people I play like newer before < i blast them all !!

Can someone give me some pointers on generating the nodscript file. Trying to get the bots running around a little more intuitive on the DesertFortress map.
I thought I understood it, but I guess I don’t.

I started work on an introduction to nodscripts, but halted because of some strange behaviour and even crashes. Plus, this nodesystem is going to be heavily modified for future versions and anything you might learn for the current form might be totally useless in the next version.
But if you have a question about such stuff, post it in clan RW’s forum, the guys are really nice and don’t hesitate to give out info. Don’t be afraid of those mystic unreadable french text everywhere on their page, you’re not going to be the only one posting english there 
For anyone wanting an english version, just take the .menu files from the pak0.pk3 (in the /ui folder) in the etmain folder. copy them all over into the Bobot.pk3 except for:
credits_…menu files (not needed)
global.menu (not needed)
ingame_main.menu (this has been modified to add the bobots menu)
options.menu (this has been modified to add the bobots menu)
This replaces 50 out of the 57 .menu files. The other 5 are Bobot specific:
bobots.menu
ingame_bobots.menu
ingame_bobots_confirme.menu
wm_quickcommandsbobots.menu
wm_quickcommandswaypoints.menu
If you take these from the Bobots.pk3 and look at them, there’s only a handful of French words in there that need changing. For example “COMMANDE MENU BOBOTS” is “BOBOTS COMMAND MENU” and “RETOUR” is “BACK”.
Then, as previously mentioned, the two modified menus:
ingame_main.menu
options.menu
need changing but if you compare them you will see the extra Bobot line added. Don’t forget to change the height numbers too at WINDOW_HEIGHT (at the top from 152 to 176) and then BUTTON positions (next to the text from 128 to 152).
If you can’t wait for [RW]Tiger to translate these few words (I don’t know what the delay is, frankly) then this is your solution.Anything you don’t know, stick it thru Babelfish.
Yes, I have done it and tested it and its perfectly fine.
Rather than having completely separate German, French and English etc complete Bobot.pk3’s it would be a better idea to have a separate Bobot_menu_ui_fr.pk3, Bobot_menu_ui_en.pk3, and Bobot_menu_ui_de.pk3 language packs also. By removing the ui folder from the Bobot.pk3 and putting the different lanuage ui’s in their own pk3 files it would save downloading and also make changing languages easier.
Hope all this helps in some way. I only installed ET today for the first time because I read that Urban Terror was going to be ported over from Quake 3 and I wanted to check it out with some bots 
I have not enough time, but work on the english translation which is longer cause a i do it alone except for the “read me” already translate by a player call “Unbind” (Thanks to him).
German version was quicker cause a german player translate me all and i gave him some others words to translate which were translate really quicker (Thanks SEKoner).
So stimpee, would you give me what you translated so that i will be able to make this english version as soon as possible?
PS : Exact, dont be afraid by French, even if this language is different, we have the one goal to make all ET players happy and enjoying playing at ET.
I am looking for a webmaster too for our site about ET : Realistic War, my site is down cause of my provider, who close my ftp cause there was too many connected… so i am looking for a webmaster who will be able to hsot the site and improved it. All request here or in my mail.
Ok, I have created the English translation (there really wasnt that much). I have also split the UI folder from the main Bobot.pk3 to maike it easier for others to translate to other languages.
I can make these available on my website late today for download.
I also forgot to get the objdata files for each map too. So I’ll stick those in also.
