I wish that it was possible to reward trying to win, but rewarding winning will encourage staying on the 8 side of an 8 v 5 etc. There is already a massive issue with this already when there is no reward for winning besides the first win. Adding a win reward will only further this.

I’m for adding more bonuses to winning, but with that there needs to be better matchmaking system to avoid a major imbalance in teams. I’d suggest using the same skill ranking system used in competitive, it’s already in place and designed to match players by skill. Expanding it to a game wide use instead of just competitive would allow all players to have their skill properly gauged. This would also benefit completive mode by already having a players skill measured and that should increase the player base over time.

Id also add a greater penalty for quitting, vote kicking and other forms of harassment. Nothing says play nice like a Ban Hammer to the face. ect.

So disable the winning bonus if teams have been unbalanced for x amount of time. Disable bonus for people switching near the end of a match. Give a small bonus to people who switch teams early to balance the numbers. Implement automatic team balancing in public (why this is not already in, I have no idea). Execution matches with 8v6 is truly ridiculous.

Loads of ways to negate the negative aspects.

It will never be perfect, nothing ever is, but c’mon…

You are never going to fix “people not being good at the game,” and you are going to have a really hard time teaching the entire playerbase that working together is important. As long as missions are your primary source of credits, mission farming will be a thing. And as long as there are multiple mercs, you will have people playing mercs that they aren’t yet very good at.

A small credit boost for winning won’t change any of these factors. Do you really think that shitty vassilis are going to switch class because of a small credit boost? As far as they are concerned, they are awesome snipers who will hard carry the game as soon as they start landing their shots. Sure, the other vassilis are terrible and should switch to a real class. That just applies to other people, though.

The problem isn’t that people don’t care about winning. The problem is that people aren’t good at the game, and that isn’t something you can fix.

Or we could not do any of this. At best it’s an insignificant boost to credit gain, at worst it’s an incentive for stacking/leaving. It’s not like anyone that does their missions lacks credits.

Yeah, except the issue is finding some sort of carrot for the average player to play an objective based game reliant on teamwork with the aim to win, not solely to grind credits.

In my mind, that involves transforming a portion of said credits (or cases or whatever) into the actual carrot.

Incentive for stacking and leaving? First is covered by having an actual working auto-balance for public games, the second makes no sense for anyone who understands how and when credits are actually awarded.

I’ll stop beating the dead horse now though.

I’m surprised at the general reactions. A bonus for winning seems to be something that comes stock with every game. Otherwise why have the drive to win? What does it matter when rank isn’t a part of the equation?
