Aura is...
As much as I would love to have that pre damage fall of rev gun back, there is a reason why the balance is… weird for it. I mean I have no objections to having a high skill character that can beat a worse sniper, but I think @Herr_Hanz might have mentioned in a much older thread that you could cover the same range as a sniper rifle, but not have to ADS, which is a massive advantage in this game.

Anyways, I think the whole thing with aura comes down to comp/high skill players vs everyone else in balancing terms. Higher skilled players/a coordinated team will just be able to counter an aura who sits too long much easier than people in a public match or in lower level games maybe idk maybe I am just rambling at his point.
basically the pre nerf revifle was a 450 character speed 139 headshot damage weapon that was accurate while hipfiring.

she was the best sniper out there, with unlimited ammo, selfheal, revive power, and an machinepistol and a pistol.

probaly wasnt me, but im a fierce proponent for the nerf.
I think the best solution would be to make the healing station generate a pulse, this pulse when it hits basically works EXACTLY like the health packs from Sawbonez.

This allows the healing station to do it’s job, without it basically being a tanking station. And would give them a reason to buff Aura’s health and maybe give her more weapon variety.
I’ve always thought this is how her station should work and argued for it a long time ago when people wanted the station nerfed back when it started giving HP as soon as you set it down and would regenerate it’s HP when picked up and sat back down again. It made her an 80hp tank instantly wherever she went.

I honestly think it should do exactly as you described. Pulse and give a heal over time that will be interrupted with damage. It would allow her to gain more HP and the station to gain more HP while still being quite good. You just can’t sit a few people in it and tank damage and you don’t have to have a Nader at all times when an Aura is in play.

I’m fine with how her and her station works right now. But I’d be 100% accepting of this particular change if it happened.

Yeah I think a pulse would be more suited, or just reducing the effect aura has from her own HS a slight bit (like 10% less healing rate, so she isn’t as much of tank). Sometimes I find myself trying to flank, and I do not have any explosives, an Aura just pops up with her HS down the corridor I was just about to walk through and we both start shooting at eachother.

If I don’t have a burst rifle, the odds are I will lose that gunfight as the only way you will be able to take her out is headshots, which becomes extremely difficult on a fast character with such a small head hitbox, aswell as the fact that if she is getting headshots and I am not playing a tank, she has the clear cut advantage ttk wise.

Whilst I do not think that this is game breaking by any means, I just feel Aura should not be the only medic apart from phoenix (his strong suit is keeping himself in the fight by his team, so this must be kept for balance and variety) that does not get reduced healing from their own ability. I see too many auras, even lvl 30+ ones, using the station selfishly just due to the fact that it makes you a tank and I feel it contradicts the main purpose of a medic:

Help Your Team.

but sparks did it without a zoom scope.
which on some degree, it requires skill to see enemies that far and that small in the horizon.
and she has to charge before shooting (quick charge also get nerfed) and nerfed revive making it almost cant revive anything if shes in the visual range of an enemy
(basically the enemy will shoot the dead body because the revive is just isnt fast enough.)

even if vasilli cant revive people or heal people, he can instagib low health, he can see enemies thru walls, he has mp400 (which arguably making him best recon sniper) he has fast firing bolt action, he has 110 hp and access to semi auto sniper that just got buffed.

aand this is aura discussion…

Aura is fine where she is. Really good in pubs. Yeah the station is easy to use, and you can tank a lot, but it does have a long cooldown, set-up time and the station can be bested by headshots (on the people on it), heavy melee attacks, shotguns, snipers (on aura /sparks/proxy), if snitched or damaged), not to mention: EMP, Frags, Nades, Molotovs, Airstrikes, arty strikes (which can destroy the station from farther away than damage is taken), lasers, Shooting the station. To those saying it should have an interruptible pulse effect, Aura needs to be able to effectively have more than 80 health because she has no damage dealing ability and not great weapons (alright, shotguns are pretty good, especially in pubs, but this is about Aura).
