Are you serious?

(sirius89) #41

Yeah pretty sad.

The game in it’s state how it is now should be a 20 dollar title but not a full price game.

(Ziggus) #42

I saw right through the hype from the very beginning I was expecting brink to be what it was. Then, people started bashing it so I was worried. I saw my cousin playing it…“That’s what I expected all along”, so I bought it.

I’m not defending Brink. I’m not telling you to like Brink. I’m simply stating that I honestly have a blast playing brink.

Devs over hype their games. Maybe they shouldn’t, but they do. Blaming them for it does nothing, even if they are the ones who are wrong. All you can do is learn from this. DON’T TRUST HYPE. Read reviews. Talk to friends. Go to forums. In the gaming world, everyone learns the lesson sooner or later

(GR0MIT) #43

I know man, that tapir level is the ****, but it’s only open to ppl that don’t BITH AND MOAN LIKE A LITTLE GIRL.

Shame really coz only 5 ppl have played it…

(Steinernein) #44
Hmmm… Someone buys something because the manufacturer promises them something they like but when they get it home, they find out that it isn’t really like they were promised. You wonder why people are annoyed?

They pitched SMART as the thing that would seal the deal on Brink’s uniqueness. It didn’t. What isn’t to get about that?

BTW, it’s not real life, it’s a video game and if the dev’s didn’t put in enough areas, well then you can’t make it work for you.
It didn’t for you but it did for others. Take it and try to add to it positively or leave it.

(WRECKCREATOR) #45

As soon as they fix the lag this game will be awesome. thats the only issue right now(imo).

(fprovost) #46

It also launched with an SDK.

FATALITY

I’m guessing that you’re not very good at the game/gay for CoD, ergo don’t like any game where “teamwork”, “faster than snail pace movement”, or “strategy” is required.

You know what you could be doing rather than bitching? Making your own game. Oh wait you probably don’t even know basic.

As for the lag. Either get off the Xbox (because they are worthless) or get a better compy. I’m willing to bet that 75% of the times I hear people say “lag” they are referring to frame rate drops because they don’t know the difference.

A blind man couldn’t mistake lag for frame rate drops on the 360. This is the laggiest game ever released on a console. I don’t know how it went Gold for release.

As for getting off the XBOX, that’s what everyone has already done. I had 20 people on my friends list playing this game at launch. Now I have ZERO. Everyone has abandoned ship in short order.

Worst launch I’ve ever seen. They should have canceled this game a year ago. Whoever worked on it should never work in game development again.

(FreezerBurn) #49

Another 360 user here pretty upset over the lag. All my buds have stopped playing this, and it was the only reason I even got this game for the Xbox360. Probably wont pick it up for the computer either. TF2 still keeps me plenty entertained and LA Noire will probably be bought with some of the trade in credit from Brink.

Just wanted to say, the game was very refreshing and fun to play. But not being able to play online for the xbox360 due too much lag to move has killed it for me. Also annoying when I hear of Free DLC coming out to try and appease us. All I want to hear is the online being fixed, how ever they are going to do it. Maps and DLC are a very distant second priority.

I kinda agree with Akkers and many other critics on this forum. At first I was thrilled to play Brink, but only after a couple of days playing it it gets old very quick. Not much meat on the bones with this game and LAGGY as hell.

It has it’s good things, that’s for sure, but it’s not worth full price, maybe 30 dollars.

People who don’t have it yet and read this thread; go rent it first to try it out!

I give this game 7/10. Not bad, not great either although at first I thought otherwise.

(throwback8) #52

I am having an absolute blast with Brink. Everyone is titled to their opinion, but I completely disagree. At first i wasn’t sure about Brink, and the lag was unplayable. When I found out about the competetive, old skool, and big team playlists though, the game really grew on me. I have absolutely zero lag when playing those playlists, and without lag, you can see what Brink is truly about. Also, their are 8 maps, and they are far from “tiny”. I guess my point is, until you have played in a full 8v8(human players) with zero lag(other playlists than regular are lag free) then you really haven’t even experienced what Brink has to offer. The fact that you have only played with bots and or online with lag, voids your opinion in my eyes.

I’m serious… and don’t call me Shirley…

Yep, and the jokes on you.

Not only can you not count, but it seems like you haven’t even finished playing game…

Besides that, don’t complain about how many maps there are, remember TF2? That only started off with 4 maps… or was that Day of Defeat: Source? Oh yeah CS:S started with like… 2-5…

Hate to say it but at 15$ Monday Night Combat is stiff competition for Brink. While different in so many ways you can really get as much if not more from MNC at the moment. No Lag, balanced classes, maps that don’t take themselves seriously but they are fun and symmetrical. Only 1 game mode though (but i’d rather play it endlessly than the same objective missions). The way you kill someone can always change. The way you complete an objective…doesn’t.

(SinDonor) #55

Me too. I just don’t get all the hate. I mean, I’m no 1337 mega FPS superstar or nothing, but I have been playing FPSes since Wolfenstein 3D back in '93 (unless you count Battlezone as a FPS). This is a great teamwork FPS.

Haters gonna hate. 'Baters gonna 'bate.:eek:

(throwback8) #56

I actually agree, MNC is an excellent game. That said, when playing Brink 8v8, without lag, and a team working together and buffing eachother, it definitely tops MNC in my opinion.

(Bakercompany) #57

By a long shot it does. Brink is brilliant in gameplay. I love every bit of it and have no complaints there. Not in classes, weapons, body types, its all great to me. Same with 8v8 and you’re absolutely right, lag free matches are brilliant!

My gripe is with the campaign (thus, only MP game mode). Yeah MNC has what, 6 maps? And one game mode? (Like TDM meets Base Defense?) But those few maps and one game mode to me, are far more replayable than Brinks campaign missions which seem so poorly designed. They look pretty, but aren’t practical at all. They aren’t the worst maps in the world don’t get me wrong. But it looks like gameplay got 90% of the attention, and campaign/missions received the remaining 10%.

I seriously think some amateur guys out there with the sdk (thats a map editor right?) could make a better campaign in a couple months. Brinks backstory is amazing, but they took such little advantage of it. That opening cinematic with Chen and the cigar got me juiced to play, but that was the most exciting part of the campaign…

EDIT: Meant to say, the one thing about Brink vs MNC, is really 60$ (plus tax) vs 15$ tax free… Thats where its a headscratcher. To have nearly a comparable game in fun terms for 1/4th the cost.

(Dormamu) #58

I personally love it, the way it make me feel like i am an important part of my team, when i win/lose a match is mesmerizing.
The only thing i am angry is that i was not part of the beta team, so i could iron out the bugs. :frowning:
