Are there female characters in this game?

(TiN TiN) #21

People shouldn’t get so angry about it. I could see that whole debate and respect it, but it’s a video game. It’s not really anything that changes gameplay either, just aesthetics. I could care less if I could only play as only a male, female, or even alien, as long as I enjoy the game, it’s the last thing on my mind.

Wont really enter in the debate as its been stated numerous time why there isnt female playable char, I just want to say that I love boobs, I really do.

Peace

You mean like The Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy?

(Crytiqal) #24

I guess they have to bribe people to play some single player in this game, and exclusive female content might be one of them :stuck_out_tongue:

(Sipdis) #25

I reckon the recording of female boots (as featured in ‘Minds On The Brink’-video) was done for non playable characters, then.

(Crytiqal) #26

how does a female stamping boots sound different then a male stamping boots?

It’s like saying that when a woman shoots a weapon to record a sound its for female characters handling that gun

I found some concept art for Brink female models (DLC) in the future.

As you can see they have a unique females-only weapon (left hand) which can only be used at close range.
It will temporarily blind the enemy, making him an easy target but it takes a lot of
precision aiming on the eyes to get this done.
It’s not determined yet wether the can will contain hair- or pepperspray.
Ofcourse I am making this all up because I’m bored atm but this pic did remind me of Brink (artist unknown)

(Crytiqal) #29

she would make a totally awesome ingame character!

Looks more like spraypaint to me. Does look very Brink-like in clothing… not so much in psysique/facially though.

It would be awesome for girlie-DLC. Still don’t see it happening though.

It’s funny how the lack of female characters, something totally aesthetic that doesn’t effect gameplay at all, has caused such an uproar, and at the same time these same people don’t seem to show any worry or concern for “important” things, such as balance, controls and overall gameplay.

(SockDog) #32

You seem to be forgetting that having a wide aesthetic choice is the reason there are no female characters.

(LyndonL) #33

H0rse don’t even. You are not in a position to talk about making a massive uproar over something small after the 70-odd pages you wrote advocating for VOIP to be off by default.

So you’re saying VOIP is a small thing? So it shouldn’t matter whether it’s off by default then? Glad we see eye to eye on this. If you think VOIP is a gameplay changing aspect or something major, then I would be showing concern by discussing its implementation, which is what the second part of my post covered:

and at the same time these same people don’t seem to show any worry or concern for “important” things, such as balance, controls and overall gameplay.

So what exactly was the point of your post?

(LyndonL) #35

There’s no reasoning with you when you set your mind to something.

(tokamak) #36

The smallest point concerning gameplay still trumps the biggest aesthetic issue.

Right. Well, I watched that ‘making-of’-process in the video I linked in my earlier post, and they explained how they went through great lengths to make the sounds sound as authentic and good as possible. Therefore it would not have surprised me if they recorded both male and female footsteps.
Someone with good ears could hear the difference.

The comparison you make is a lousy one, by the way.
Weapons are mechanical things, man and woman are of different build, size, weight, and consequently, sound.

But, as already said before; who cares, really. I don’t.

I really wish female characters were avalaible in brink, and the huge delay the game had the last month really make me wish Splash to have worked on this…Still pretty much the same answer as before… NO

In any case put them on the disk, Please NO DLC, that sucks!!!

BRINK had a huge delay last month?
Whats wrong with DLC (Downloadable Content) ?

(BioSnark) #40

Brink was supposed to come out this spring, fall. Content should be available with retail release, not locked away behind a seperate pay wall.

Looks like for APB.

Media socialization of gender roles.
