Yes.
Am I the only one...
Yep, same here. I was getting significant fps drops since a couple of updates ago, and I decided to change my potato config file to another one (to Outc1ders’ config file), so that fixed most of my problems… However, now I’m getting some random 3-4 second freezes, very annoying.
I’m also not hyped. It’s Stoker + 2 maps. It’s nice, but the game has little content. WIth classes as thin as this, you need many more maps to have a fun game. W:ET had 6 initially + map editor, ET:QW had 12, Brink had 8.
Now DB gets 2 maps for a mode it wasn’t designed for. Think Execution will be as fun as in CS ? With regenerating health, regenerating grenades, medics, mines, and Rhino ? Give me +5 Objective maps.
I too have been getting random FPS drops while in game after the previous update. My PC is reasonably beefy and prior to the update I could run the game on a smooth 60 FPS on the highest settings. Now after that update I still get 60 FPS for the majority of the time but I get FPS drops to about 10-30 around every half a minute or so. It’s pretty annoying but I’ve gotten used to it. Started a thread but then I saw one of Faraleth’s stream roundups and saw that apparently the devs were looking into performance issues after the update?? I don’t know. But I’m pretty sure everyone here saying they have low FPS actually can have high FPS, it’s just that it drops for them. My friends have also been having the FPS drops and other people in servers I’ve played on at the same time.
The FPS drops and freezes really are my #1 problem in DB.
I’m getting close to finishing my new PC build with an i7 6700K, GTX 980 TI and 16GB of DRR4 ram.
Now I don’t know if even this will make the occasional full freezes go away, but at least I should be able to play with a steady framerate of 144.

It won’t
980Ti, 16GB RAM, 4670K@4.7GHz and 1-1,5s freezes every hour or so. I currently have a 60Hz screen so I just play on high details and get 100-150fps.
No… you’re not alone.
Sure, I appreciate all the goodies we’ll be getting but I’m not letting it to distract me from all the small problems with the game.
drop rate for the cw cards was a huge turn off, but I guess the spectator bug fix might be worth a little hype… 2 steps back ftw!
No, you aren’t the only person who makes drop off thread titles so I have to click the damn thing to see what its about.
My excitement is at an all time high… STATS!!! I could not care less about Dirty Strike mode… or would that be Counter Bomb, nah.
This game (to me at least) is enjoyable because the fast paced nature, waves of enemies rushing towards the objectives, keeping that wave moving with medics etc.
As much resistance as the devs/community has towards ctf, tdm, koth, control points, you know, fast paced game modes. All just for the sake of “we’re not going to do it just because everyone does it” or “this isn’t some cheese COD game”, execution just screams “We’re like counter strike, come play us cs:go players!”
All the time I put into the original CODs which are extremely similar to DB, and in ET I can’t remember anyone really ever playing S&D, maybe it was just the people I played with. Personally, the game type just doesn’t fit into a fast paced, respawn driven game.
Execution mode is a great alternative for when you want to play DB but just aren’t feeling Objective/SW mode.
Why even complain that they are ADDING features and game modes? This game is still beta and still getting new content in all areas.
Just because YOU don’t like Execution, doesn’t mean everyone else agrees with you.
While I can’t stand CS, I’ve always loved the 1 life per round team elimination mode.
Its much more tactical, and if you claim that this game mode can’t be tactical because of all the crazy weapons etc, you are playing it wrong.
One of DBs biggest patches of which we haven’t even see the patch notes on… but “meh, who cares” because I want to be a hipster.

Jesus, that’s a beast. And considering I have a 4770k OC’d to 4.6, gtx780 with 16gb of ddr3 an run at 300-340fps constant with zero hitching. So I think you should be just fine with that rig. Of course my 2011 model laptop runs the game at 1080p and at 75-100FPS without drops when on the integrated GPU and 100-125 when on the 550m so I’m not sure what would be causing other peoples issues like the one you’ve had (you’ve had this for a long while I believe).

Oh, sorry. I didn’t know this was another “get ready to watch two people run around an empty map” hype thread. I gave MY reasons why I am not too excited about execution mode.
I think you have a twisted definition of “hipster”…
… now where did i put my pbr and mustache wax.
