I think the EV thing is fine as is.

im not sure if defence can see a repair progression bar at ev start, i think its health is full. and attack engie can see a repair progression bar as he repairs/activates
but not defence if you know what i mean, can anyone confirm or debunk this. if the pliers were loud enough to be heard around the ev THIS would be enough i think anyway.
I actually think EV repair is also shown in enemy HUD, not the big progress bar but just where EV health is.
looking at objective announcements atm. we still have big blocks on screen atm on lower resolutions, so hopefully these will get scaled down eventually.
but considering there are no names on these, do we need them anymore? i dont need a sentence of text.
i would prefer a small objective icon at the screen edge that tells me it’s been done plus sound indication and goes green with name of person inside it.
if its multi obj like cores then add a pip each time.
iv brought this up because i noticed lately that the “who” had been removed from core collection and drop off and im not sure why.
the initial problem was a continual commentary of who did what, which was overkill plus it filled the screen.
atm we have repeated information on progress maybe triple.
so if it could all be put in a small box tucked away great.
but i also beleive it should state who did it.
the question is what should be announced.
- the attempt at an objective. ie planting c4, building, stealing, defusing
or / and - the completion of an objective. ie destroyed obj, stolen, defused.
and should who completed it be stated for all to see?
the fact is objectives have there own progress bars so you can see builds, stolen items, hacks etc so something announcing it isn’t necessary imo. an audible warning yes on cores yes. ev repair yes
only the completion should have a text just indicating the name of who did it. plus audible completion sound.
so what do you think should be indicated in the HUD and how?
il just state that i may be over-reacting due to the huge size of text announcements on my screen.
but i do want to know who did what if its important enough.

The only team that should have a notification that an objective in the process of being done is the team that are doing it. The defenders should not be told that DarkangleUK is planting, only the attackers. The attackers should not be told Darkangel is defusing only the defenders.
I’m desperately trying to find objectives specific for the recon and this thread might just give it an opportunity. I have not read it all, yet IMO it could be a very good strategic objective to plant some radio beacon that recons can hack and listen to the other team’s communication. A simple nade on it would desactivate it, and their location should be accessible to both teams, but with a slight advantage for the defense.
So, good idea or rubbish waiting to be thrown in the bin ?

Sounds good in theory however, most will use there own voice coms, so unless you hack there TS3 server…
Im not speaking about audio communications xD but about all the objectives or gameplay related actions the other team is doing. See the post of DarkAngelUK … he complains about the fact that both teams have announcements of everything they are doing. This could be a solution.
I’d like to see what it’s like with no text cue’s until the objective is complete and instead have only an audio cue that emanates from the objective that can only be heard when near-by.
For example a PDA beeping or a wrench constructing sound.
