How much time exactly do you take to put your crosshair on a stationary target’s head and click? I have consistently run over health stations with 2 people on them with Thunder all the damn time. Thunder is extremely efficient at killing people near a health station, I’ve had an easier time taking garage in Chapel with than with Fragger.

a healing station has no effect at all if your enemy cant move and its free headshots, bushwackers turret wont ever take down 170hp in time and proxy’s mines are just a joke.

‘countering’ Thunder with deployables is pointless.

I’m confused… why do people keep thinking a Thunder player is going to be dumb enough to stand STILL on a healing station. Even as Aura I run around the station whenever I’m getting health from it.

And also, Proxy mines on a heal station, a joke?
That guarantees, at a minimum, the health station goes down. Even in competitive. Sorry, no way to remove an enemy proxy mine except blowing it up.

For some weird reason, I was seeing roles reversed despite re-reading the last 3 comments. Thinking the Thunder was on the healing station, and that people were trying to get him off of it. And I’m like, Proxy mine would work bois. And I was also like, why would they stand still… now for the fifth time of reading that (I had 3 hours of sleep, sorry…) I realize you guys are saying he concusses someone on healing station, and that healing station pretty much does nothing when they can’t move. Geez… My head.

I get what you’re trying to say and will address that later but as someone who did play at the top level a couple years ago, this definitely would not be the case. The only sweeping changes that would apply to all mercs we wanted were remove aimpunch, or make it a visual effect only, and reduce spread so you can consistently headshot people while hipfiring at mid-long range. Nobody asked for ttk changes, or sweeping dmg changes.

There were of course many other changes to abilities that people wanted, but they were on a case by case basis and were mainly being asked for to make it so the strategies weren’t so cookie cutter and obvious. For example with how healing stations and rhino worked back then, every team was using rhino plus aura on defense in basically the same spots. Lead to some really dull games where everyone knew exactly how both teams would set up because that set up was just objectively the best given the current merc lineup.

Now to the point that you were making which I believe was that you cant ignore the plebs when it comes to balance, yes I agree they shouldn’t be ignored. The way I see it is you balance for the top players and then see how the plebs handle it. If the mechanics are too confusing or too difficult, you do what you have to for the plebs to have fun without ruining it for decent players. Proxy is a good example of this. Noobs love her because she makes the shooting and movement easy but she gets destroyed by good players so ultimately she has no impact on high level play. In other words, she makes low level play accessible without dumbing down the whole game.

I main as phantom, for Ranked and Casual. I am often top of da board :smiley: But I have to agree, He needs a speed buff, maybe a 120 Hp?? and a 50% increase to Repair and Plant. (Not Disarm) HE is susposed to be a Scout so maybe enemy location when he cloaks? So he can “see” where the mercs are, but only one random merc at a time. This would make Phantom someone to fear of you are alone. With 120 Hp and the regular speed of a 110 character (He has 20 speed under :open_mouth:) Phantom would be really useful, disabling Deployables, taking out vital players such as engineers or Medics. A merc to fear. Unless you know how to spot and deal with him (Also maybe make him slightly less invis while running)
