A Community Based QA Panel/Committee

Collectively, we already are the Beta testers. Getting involved in the play and feedback loop is already there, and I’m confident that it is working positively. I know there are shortcomings, but it sure is vetting better. Having pre-release testers on patches is a big can of worms due to various security reasons.
So you’re basically suggesting some kind of design council ?

The idea is good on the principle, though IMO that council should be selected by the dev team itself. Also, it should be more than just 5 players, and if possible players that are well aware of the community’s thoughs overall.

I’m all for it anyway.
I think it’s tricky to let the devs chose the council. As the risk of them only choosing people that follow their way of thinking is too great. I actually think that the community should vote for them in an effort of having a variety of representation amongst them. For instance, one person heavily involved in comp, another that plays mainly with friends in pubs, another that only plays alone. Someone who is passionate about execution, but doesn’t really care about objective mode, etc.

Also at least as many good players as there are characters, with each maining one of them, so that you can address questions directly to those who know a merc in and out. And also complete newcomers who don’t know anything about them.

Trying to involve both players with 1000h, but also people who just started. In the end though taking longer time player’s input as above a newcomers if they conflict in vision.

I really believe that you really need a little bit of everything, otherwise you just get a dev team number 2, where there is a consensus on what those people think but they might be thinking wrong. You need opposing opinions to spark debate and then take decision based on that.

While it is a great idea, and one that I’m sure would have a positive impact on the game, I gotta point out what Faraleth said, and that’s the SD VIPs.

But a group of people who work at a level similar to MissMurder, who scour forums and look for feedback (obviously volunteers of some sort, maybe ingame loot) who present key ideas and changes to the higher ups who maybe don’t check the reddit every waking minute of every day.

And also 5 is quite small, I’d say 10 at least. Nice youtube channel as well @kAndyREW .
