A business analysis of maps as paid DLC
“To show our appreciation for your support of Brink, we will be making the first DLC for Brink available for free when it is released.”

Tell me how we are being misled?
All I said was that the SD’s statement could have been more clear. I’m clearly not the only one that misinterpreted their intent.
I’m clearly not the only one that just couldn’t remember what the statement was and didn’t bother to check before I went off on a tangent that wouldn’t be reasonable even if they had said what I mistakenly thought they said.

There, fixed it for you.

I can’t believe there is 3 or 4 threads that are essentially the same thread topic. Raise your hand if you like talking about Brink rather than discussing the ramifications of offering maps for Free for a limited time and all future DLC that will cost money.

You obviously have a tenuous grasp of the English language if you think that statement could only be interpreted in one specific way.

I like this one.

Regardless it’s deceptive. You’re blind if you can’t see that. I mean that’s why they hire PR guys right? Because they are suppose to understand how people will react to what is announced or being advertised… especially a worst case scenario.

+1 for this one. the phrasing is seriously misleading. in the entire month we were expecting DLC, not a SINGLE person in this forum guessed or interpreted that quote “made available for free” in the correct way. they obviously phrased it that way to SEEM like it was permanently free and to build up hype, but at the same time the phrasing left it open to legally be able to be a temporary discount. bottom line, i have lost all respect for SD. signing a contract with bethesda that allows them to release a game the way they did and using marketing misdirection for manipulation…very low…
