This is the only part I’ll honestly disagree on. Proxy is useless if we’re balancing for better players as the other two mercs have much better killing potential and sustainability. The only thing Proxy has over them is speed, and good players can account for that.
16th November Dev Stream Round-Up [SMOOTH SPECIAL!]
Back in the steam closed beta time, Proxy’s speed was 470 instead of 450. Maybe it’s time to revert that change.
Just as an example : take technically hard to play mercs, like sparks, fletcher, red eye and some others. What smooth more or less said is that currently they are unable to sort K/D, XP/min, accuracy stats depending on literal experience of players. Those are mercs you will be totally bad with them until you get some good amount of time spent on them. And after that, once you get the manual for them correctly understood, they might just turn above average, and possibly by a good margin. And the stats won’t show this currently. The average stats could be on par with the rest of the mercs or even below, and their prowess in experienced hands will never be shown by their statistical analysis. And same goes for the weapon balance.
That is terrible. Latest balance updates success seem to be due to luck, as most of the community feedback is quite out of the actual modifications they’ve done. We will see how the new iteration of burst rifles will go on the long run with experienced players, but I can forecast what is going to happen.
The balance, which is in on my opinion on a much better state compared to other topics like bugfixing, MM improvements, content, should be put on hold until they are able to analyse things in a more thorough fashion. Otherwise it’s just fiddling with numbers to keep players happy and occupied.
Edit :
That’s the kind of thing they cannot see right now. How merc types (light, medium, heavy hp pools) are affected by the enemy you’re facing. The current Health/Speed relationship applied in the merc balance will be an important topic in the future. But right now, they can’t do anything about it as they lack inputs in these particular fields.
Agreed, I don’t see how his idea of knocking it away with a melee weapon improves the Augment at all. It’s still an incredibly situational, high risk, low reward Augment that would still be nullified by the other player cooking the grenade.
Yep. If you take data from past 2 weeks you could conclude that Fletcher and Nader are OP, all because their abilities one shot all 3 free rotation mercs. Add all those free Phoenixes running around and Fletcher may be seen as even more OP.
One thing they didn’t address was counter play, I know that’s an obvious thing but it really does need to be addressed.
Like Fragger, why does he not say his lines WHILE cooking a grenade? This way you know what’s coming, and if he’s stupid about it you can punish him by rushing while he’s trying to cook the nade.
Aura, why not make her healing station have less health so it’s easier to destroy with focus fire.
And so on and so forth, there’s a lot of little things that need to be addressed in regards to dealing with certain mercs.
This is the only part I’ll honestly disagree on. Proxy is useless if we’re balancing for better players as the other two mercs have much better killing potential and sustainability. The only thing Proxy has over them is speed, and good players can account for that.[/quote]
I disagree. The mines are in a good spot. The hochfir is one of the best weapons in the game. Again, the hollunds could use some love but all the other stats are fine. We need a fast engineer and she’s it! Both Fletcher and Bushwhacker are slower. She’s actually my number one merc in the stats with most kills. She’s a beast. And using your mines to shoot them adds versatility. There is no need to change anything.
They want to include a “lower than lower” and “higher than higher” video setting options, so that settings people are editing in the config are also changeable in the game.

Couldent agree moore on that
I have already explained this countless times. Your matchmaking is punishing good players by making us carry utter noobs. I’m still waiting for you to fix this and introduce party system.
My workaround which get’s me hated and I don’t care is just to switch or spectate the geniuses you give me as teammates who end up with scores in triple digits and 1 kill 12 deaths or 0 kill 12 deaths.
Just because I kill 30 to 40 players every round your matchmaking goes ahead and puts every single high level against me and a full team of new players for me to carry. It does this so much that now I just switch teams or spectate and leave before it ends.
As I said Splash Damage two can play this game. So the countless people in Asian servers crying why I’m not carrying is because I’m tired and it’s sickening every bloody game is me putting down 3 or 4 players while you guys well I don’t know what the hell you are doing but yeah I’ll just spectate or switch.
I don’t have time to put up with poor matchmaking and you making me take on my friend who is just as good as me and when he is on the stacked team or I’m on the stacked team no 1 stands a chance. You keep putting 1 good player there and another 5 noobs. I don’t know how it is in American servers but my god Asian servers have some messed up matchmaking.
Every game is a struggle or a total rape and spawn camp. So many games allow friends to party I don’t mind if my team is noob and I have my friend like yesterday I switched to the noob team but we won because the both of us know what we are doing.
We took on so many high levels and good players but I had my friend backing me up so we could hold them. People keep saying levels don’t matter yeah they don’t but in small pool Asian servers they do. Nearly all the high levels do have some sort of good play.
So i’ll just keep spectating and stacking while you take your time working on whatever it is you’re doing. Let the tears roll.
